Personal Injury Attorney Ramzy Ladah

Suffered a head injury in Spring Valley, NV? Contact the top Spring Valley head injury lawyer to seek justice and compensation.

Head injuries can affect how you think, work, and connect with the people you love. Symptoms like headaches, memory problems, dizziness, mood changes, and trouble concentrating may not appear until days after a car crash on Rainbow Boulevard or a fall at a local business, and many people do not realize how serious their injury is until it begins to affect their job and daily life. While you work through medical tests and treatment, insurance companies may question your symptoms, point to normal scans, or push a quick settlement that ignores the long-term effects of your injury.

At Ladah Injury & Car Accident Lawyers Las Vegas, our head injury lawyers understand how difficult these injuries can be to prove and what evidence it takes to show their full impact. We work with neurologists, neuropsychologists, and other medical experts to document cognitive changes, future treatment needs, and lost earning ability. Our results include an $11 million head injury settlement, and we prepare every case as if it will go before a jury so insurers take your claim seriously.

Why Spring Valley Victims Choose Ladah Injury & Car Accident Lawyers Las Vegas

Spring Valley Head Injury Lawyer

Insurance companies aren’t on your side. They have corporate defense teams, unlimited investigation budgets, and decades of practice paying injury victims as little as possible. Our founding attorney, Ramzy Ladah, spent years inside one of Nevada’s largest insurance defense firms, learning every tactic, every loophole, and every internal calculation adjusters use to minimize payouts. Today, that knowledge works exclusively for you.

We don’t settle cheap and fast. We take cases to trial, and insurers know it. That threat is exactly what forces them to the table with real numbers.

  • Nevada State Bar Certified Specialist: Ramzy Ladah is one of only a handful of Nevada attorneys to hold personal injury specialist certification from the Nevada State Bar.
  • Litigator of the Year (2024): A peer-voted recognition that reflects what insurers already know about us in the courtroom.
  • AV Preeminent® Rated: The highest possible peer-review designation for legal ability and ethical standards.
  • Spring Valley Office: We’re right here in the community, ready to meet on your schedule.

“Ramzy is just very thorough, and he explains things very well. He was in contact with me consistently. I felt like I knew what was going on at all times. And the way he prepared me made me feel very, confident in both my ability to testify and also in his strategy. If you are hurt, if you’ve been in a car accident, if you have been injured in some way, I would recommend Ladah Law.” – A. Wilson

What Is a Traumatic Brain Injury?

A traumatic brain injury, or TBI, is any disruption to normal brain function caused by a blow, jolt, or penetrating force to the head. TBIs range from mild concussions to permanent, life-altering impairment, and no two injuries present the same way.

Common types we see in Spring Valley injury cases:

  • Concussion: a mild TBI caused by impact or sudden deceleration
  • Brain contusion: bruising of brain tissue at the site of impact
  • Coup-contrecoup injury: the brain slams forward and backward inside the skull
  • Diffuse axonal injury (DAI): widespread tearing of brain fibers from rotational force
  • Hematoma: blood pooling around the brain, creating dangerous internal pressure
  • Penetrating injury: when an object breaks through the skull and directly damages brain tissue

What Causes Head Injuries in Spring Valley?

Spring Valley sits along some of the most congested corridors in the Las Vegas Valley: the I-215 Beltway, Rainbow Boulevard, and Blue Diamond Road carry heavy commuter and commercial traffic every single day.

We handle TBI cases from car accidents, motorcycle crashes, commercial truck collisions, slip and falls, pedestrian knockdowns, and defective products. Premises liability incidents, such as an unmarked hazard at an apartment complex, a wet floor at a retail store, or a negligently maintained commercial property, are among the most frequent causes of head injuries we see in this area.

One pattern we consistently see in Spring Valley head injury claims is an ER visit at Spring Valley Hospital or Southern Hills Hospital that ends with a normal CT scan and a concussion handout, and an adjuster who treats that discharge paperwork as the end of the injury. What we see across these cases is that memory problems, light sensitivity, and mood changes surface weeks later, after the insurer has already built its file around the normal scan. Getting a neurologist or neuropsychologist involved early is what keeps those later symptoms tied to the crash.

Symptoms You Should Not Ignore

One of the most dangerous aspects of a head injury is that symptoms don’t always appear right away. Adrenaline masks pain, and brain swelling can build over hours or even days after an accident.

Early warning signs to watch for:

  • Headache or pressure behind the eyes
  • Dizziness, nausea, or vomiting
  • Confusion or difficulty concentrating
  • Sensitivity to light or sound

Delayed symptoms that signal deeper damage:

  • Memory gaps or inability to retain new information
  • Mood swings, irritability, or depression
  • Chronic fatigue that doesn’t improve with rest
  • Cognitive slowing: trouble with words, decisions, or focus

Seek emergency care immediately, even if you feel fine. Your same-day medical record is your first piece of legal evidence.

“We’re talking about the invisible pain of what was, and not what’s current… we have to do a good job of highlighting the medical records that highlight the pain.” – Adrian Karimi

How Head Injuries Are Diagnosed

Doctors typically start with a neurological exam and follow with CT scans or MRIs to check for bleeding, swelling, or structural damage. For subtler injuries, neuropsychological testing measures memory, processing speed, and cognitive function in ways imaging alone cannot.

Here is what insurers don’t want you to know: a clean scan does not mean no injury. Many mild to moderate TBIs show nothing on standard imaging while still causing lasting cognitive damage, and expert documentation from neurologists, neuropsychologists, and life-care planners is what converts the reality of your injury into a compensable legal claim.

In one case we handled, a 35-year-old woman was struck by two tractor-trailers, and multiple neuropsychologists testified for the defense that she had no cognitive deficits or brain injury, despite her ongoing memory loss, confusion, and communication difficulties. After finding the right experts, we took the case to a seven-day trial, and the jury awarded $2,436,468.40. Before trial, the defense had offered little, insisting no jury would believe she had suffered a brain injury.

What Compensation Can You Recover in Nevada?

Nevada law allows you to pursue both economic damages (your measurable financial losses) and non-economic damages (the personal toll on your quality of life).

Economic DamagesNon-Economic Damages
Past and future medical billsPhysical pain and suffering
Lost wages and incomeCognitive loss and impairment
Lost future earning capacityLoss of enjoyment of life
Rehabilitation and therapy costsLoss of consortium

In cases involving extreme recklessness, such as a drunk driver or a trucking company that violated federal safety rules, punitive damages may also be available, designed specifically to punish that conduct beyond compensating you.

“You have to show the jury… how the injuries prevent them from working that job, and also what jobs they could still qualify for, and then compare those jobs… when it comes to income.” – Adrian Karimi

Who Is Liable for Your Head Injury?

Identifying every responsible party matters because recovering from all of them is often the difference between partial compensation and full justice. Depending on the facts of your case, multiple defendants may share fault, and Nevada’s liability rules allow us to pursue all of them.

Potentially liable parties include negligent drivers, trucking companies with safety violations, property owners who ignored dangerous conditions, product manufacturers who sold defective equipment, and government entities responsible for poorly maintained public roads or spaces.

In another case, a young man hit his head on the rear window during a collision between a car and a tractor-trailer, causing a closed head injury. The defense hired a neuropsychologist and a neurologist to say he had no head injury, but we filed a motion and had all of the defendant’s experts stricken. The defense also tried to hide the truck driver’s logs, which showed a federal safety violation, and the case settled for more than $1 million, over 12 times the client’s medical bills.

What Nevada Law Says About Your Claim

The statute of limitations: Under NRS 11.190, you have two years from your injury date to file a lawsuit. There are no extensions for simply not knowing your rights.

Modified comparative negligence: Nevada’s 51% fault bar means you can still recover compensation as long as you were not more than 50% responsible for the accident. Your award is reduced proportionally by your share of fault, but you don’t lose your right to recover entirely.

Damages caps: Nevada places no ceiling on your damages in most personal injury cases, including car accidents and premises liability. The main exceptions are medical malpractice claims, where non-economic damages are capped at $590,000 in 2026 under NRS 41A.035, and claims against government entities, which are capped at $200,000 per claimant under NRS 41.035.

“I had another lawyer before I got in this car accident but my lawyer didn’t work the way I wanted. Ramzy Ladah does exactly what I want. The way he fights in court for me was really good. It was like my family member fighting for a family member.” – Dina Martinez

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I File a Head Injury Claim If My CT Scan Showed Nothing Abnormal?

Yes. Many TBIs, including concussions and post-concussion syndrome, don’t appear on standard CT or MRI imaging but are confirmed through neurological exams and neuropsychological testing. A clean scan does not end your case.

Can I Recover Compensation If I Was Partly at Fault for the Accident in Nevada?

Yes. Under Nevada’s modified comparative negligence rule, you can recover damages as long as you were 50% or less at fault. Your award is reduced by your share of responsibility, but you don’t forfeit your right to compensation entirely.

What If I Waited Before Seeing a Doctor After My Head Injury?

A treatment delay doesn’t disqualify your claim, but insurers will use it to argue your injuries aren’t serious. We build a medical and factual record that addresses the gap and defends the full value of what you suffered.

Will Not Wearing a Helmet Affect My Motorcycle Accident Head Injury Claim?

Nevada helmet law doesn’t bar recovery for riders who weren’t wearing a helmet. Insurers may raise a comparative fault argument. We counter it with expert testimony and evidence to protect your right to full compensation.

What Happens to Medicare or Medicaid Liens When I Settle My Head Injury Claim?

Medicare, Medicaid, and ERISA health plans have a legal right to be reimbursed from your settlement for care they covered. We negotiate those liens down aggressively so the maximum share of your recovery stays with you.

Can I Meet With You If I Can’t Travel to Your Spring Valley Office?

Yes. If your injuries prevent you from coming to us, we come to you at your home, your hospital room, or anywhere in Southern Nevada.
