Personal Injury Attorney Ramzy Ladah

Suffered a head injury in North Las Vegas, NV? Contact the top North Las Vegas head injury lawyer to seek justice and compensation.

A head injury can change how you remember, focus, sleep, and handle the stress of daily life. Even a crash that seems minor, like a rear-end collision on Craig Road or a fall in a store aisle, can cause a concussion or traumatic brain injury with symptoms that show up days later. Headaches, confusion, light sensitivity, and mood changes can make it hard to keep up at work or care for your family. Meanwhile, insurance companies often argue that a clear CT scan means you are fine, even when your symptoms say otherwise.

At Ladah Injury & Car Accident Lawyers Las Vegas, our head injury lawyers know that many brain injuries do not appear on standard imaging, and we know how to prove the damage anyway. We work with neurologists, neuropsychologists, and vocational experts to document how your injury affects your thinking, your job, and your future medical needs. We have represented injury victims throughout North Las Vegas and the greater Las Vegas Valley, and our results include an $11 million settlement in a head injury case. We prepare every claim as if it will go before a jury, giving you real leverage against insurers who try to minimize your injury.

Do You Have a Head Injury Claim?

North Las Vegas Head Injury Lawyer

A head injury claim is valid when two things are true: someone else’s negligence caused your accident, and you suffered a diagnosable injury as a result. Insurers fight these claims harder than almost any other category because the damage is often invisible, sometimes to the eye, and sometimes even to standard medical imaging.

Head and brain injuries span a wide spectrum. A concussion is a brief disruption in normal brain function triggered by impact. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) refers to any external-force injury to the brain, from a mild concussion to catastrophic, permanent neurological damage. We handle all of it, including:

  • Concussion / Mild TBI: Brief loss of consciousness, confusion, or memory gaps immediately after impact
  • Diffuse Axonal Injury: Microscopic shearing of brain nerve fibers, the injury a standard CT scan most often misses entirely
  • Subdural / Epidural Hematoma: Bleeding inside the skull that creates life-threatening pressure on brain tissue
  • Skull Fracture: A cranial bone break classified as linear, depressed, or basilar based on location and severity
  • Post-Concussive Syndrome: Headaches, cognitive fog, light sensitivity, and emotional changes that persist for months or years after the initial injury

A “mild” TBI can permanently compromise your ability to work, concentrate, and maintain the relationships that matter most to you, a reality reflected in the average settlements for mild TBI cases in North Las Vegas. We build every case with that reality in mind.

Who is legally responsible depends on how the accident happened, and we investigate every potentially liable party before making a single demand.

In one case we handled, a young man hit his head on the rear window during a collision between a car and a tractor-trailer, causing a closed head injury. The defense hired a neuropsychologist and a neurologist to say he had no head injury, but we filed a motion and had all of the defendant’s experts stricken. The defense also tried to hide the truck driver’s logs, which showed a federal safety violation, and the case settled for more than $1 million, over 12 times the client’s medical bills.

What Compensation Can You Recover after a Head Injury?

Your settlement or verdict should reflect the full scope of your injury, not just today’s bills, but every cost your brain injury creates over your lifetime. We partner with medical specialists and financial experts to calculate that total accurately.

Economic DamagesNon-Economic Damages
Emergency room and surgical costsPhysical pain and suffering
Future medical care and rehabilitationCognitive and emotional distress
Lost wages and diminished earning capacityLoss of enjoyment of life
In-home care and assistive devicesLoss of consortium

When the at-fault party acted with extreme recklessness, such as a driver under the influence or a trucking company that ignored documented safety violations, punitive damages may also be available. These are designed to punish the wrongdoer, not simply compensate you. We pursue every available category because the value of your life before the injury sets the floor for what you should accept.

“We’re talking about the invisible pain of what was, and not what’s current… we have to do a good job of highlighting the medical records that highlight the pain.” – Adrian Karimi

“I was rear-ended when I was pregnant and had to have multiple surgeries. I’m beyond grateful for everybody and I would definitely recommend Ramzy Ladah and his law firm to anyone who’s looking for a great lawyer.” – J.L

Nevada’s Head Injury Deadlines and Fault Rules

Nevada gives you two years from the date of injury to file a lawsuit under NRS 11.190(4)(e). Claims against a government entity, such as a city-operated vehicle or a defective public road, require a formal notice of claim under NRS 41.036 within the same two-year window, and damages are capped at $200,000 per claimant under NRS 41.035. Missing a deadline eliminates your right to recover, regardless of how strong your case is on the merits.

In limited circumstances, Nevada courts may apply a discovery rule when a TBI’s effects are not immediately apparent, starting the clock from the date you reasonably discovered the injury. Do not treat that as a reason to delay. Evidence disappears, surveillance footage gets overwritten, and witnesses forget.

Nevada also applies modified comparative negligence, which adjusts your recovery based on your share of fault:

  • 50% or less at fault: You still recover, but your award is reduced by your fault percentage. A $600,000 verdict at 25% fault becomes a $450,000 recovery.
  • 51% or more at fault: Nevada law bars you from recovering any damages at all.

Insurers routinely exaggerate your share of blame to cut their payout. Our founder, Ramzy Ladah, spent years inside that system, defending insurance carriers at one of Nevada’s largest defense firms, before directing that knowledge entirely toward the people those tactics hurt. We recognize this move immediately and shut it down.

“What insurance companies like to do is find a way, even if they’re at fault, to assign what’s called comparative fault, in order to pay less.” – Adrian Karimi

What to Do after a Head Injury in North Las Vegas

The actions you take immediately after an accident can significantly affect the strength of your case. You do not have to navigate this alone.

Call 911 Immediately

Brain injuries can worsen rapidly without treatment. An ambulance report and emergency room record from the day of the accident anchor your injury timeline and create the clinical foundation your case depends on.

Document the Scene

Photograph the accident, your injuries, and any vehicles or property involved. For a crash, get the police report number. For a fall, file an incident report with the property owner before you leave. Collect witness names and contact information while everyone is still present.

Decline a Recorded Statement to the At-Fault Insurer

You are not legally required to provide one. Adjusters are trained to ask questions designed to produce answers that minimize or eliminate your claim, and a recorded statement is their most effective tool for doing exactly that.

Keep Every Medical Appointment

See your neurologist, neuropsychologist, and therapist on schedule. Any gap in care gives insurers grounds to argue your injury was not as serious as you claim. Follow every specialist’s instructions and document your symptoms consistently.

Contact us as early as possible so we can take over all insurer communications, preserve time-sensitive evidence, and start building the record your case needs.

One pattern we consistently see in North Las Vegas head injury claims is an ER visit at North Vista Hospital or the UMC trauma center that ends with a normal CT scan and a concussion handout. What we see across these cases is that headaches, memory gaps, and mood changes surface weeks later, after the adjuster has already built a file around that normal scan, which is why early follow-up with a neurologist matters so much.

“It’s a sword in the shield that the insurance company does. They try to delay and prevent people from going to see doctors, and then use it against them when they don’t.” – Adrian Karimi

How We Prove Head Injuries Insurers Deny

Insurers count on the fact that most brain injuries are invisible on standard imaging. A “normal” CT or MRI becomes their justification for a settlement that won’t cover two years of your medical needs, let alone a lifetime.

We fight back with evidence they cannot dismiss.

We work with physicians who use Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), an advanced MRI technique that detects microscopic brain fiber damage that conventional scanners are not designed to find. Paired with neuropsychological testing that objectively measures memory, processing speed, attention, and executive function, this creates a clinical record of your injury that goes far beyond what any standard scan can show.

For catastrophic or long-term injuries, we bring in certified life care planners and vocational economists to project the full financial cost: future surgeries, cognitive therapy, daily assistance, adaptive equipment, and lost earning capacity over your working life. That comprehensive number is what turns a lowball offer into a fair one.

Every case we build is prepared to go to trial, because insurers only pay full value when they know we mean it.

In another case, a 35-year-old woman was struck by two tractor-trailers, and multiple neuropsychologists testified for the defense that she had no cognitive deficits or brain injury, despite her ongoing memory loss, confusion, and communication difficulties. After finding the right experts, we took the case to a seven-day trial, and the jury awarded $2,436,468.40.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Have a TBI If Your CT Scan Is Normal?

Yes. Standard CT scans frequently miss microscopic brain damage like diffuse axonal injury, so we use advanced imaging and neuropsychological testing to document injuries that conventional scans cannot detect.

Do You Need to Lose Consciousness to Have a Brain Injury Claim in Nevada?

No. A diagnosed concussion, documented disorientation at the scene, or persistent cognitive symptoms is sufficient to support a valid personal injury claim under Nevada law.

How Soon after a Head Injury Should You See a Neurologist?

As soon as possible, ideally within days of the accident. Early specialist records establish a direct clinical link between the incident and your injury, which is the first connection an insurer will try to challenge.

Can You Help with Treatment If You Have No Health Insurance?

Yes. We connect clients with specialists who treat on a medical lien, meaning their payment comes out of your final settlement and you receive care now at no out-of-pocket cost.

What Does It Cost to Hire Ladah Injury & Car Accident Lawyers Las Vegas?

Nothing upfront. We handle all cases on a strict contingency fee, which means our payment is a percentage of what we recover and you owe us nothing if we don’t win.

Should I Give the At-Fault Party’s Insurer a Recorded Statement?

No. You are not legally required to provide one, and doing so almost always works against your claim. Let us handle every interaction with the insurance company on your behalf.
