The young boy was injured by a falling light fixture and the resulting medical bills reached approximately $350,000. The firm obtained a settlement more than 30 times this amount, LadahLaw.com reports

(Las Vegas, NV) A boy going about his day suffered a head injury when a portion of a light fixture fell on him, impacting his head. As a result of his injury, he needed medical treatment that totaled approximately $350,000. The family contacted another law firm who immediately referred the case to the Ladah Law Firm, PLLC because of Ladah’s past success in handling catastrophic injury cases. The Ladah Law Firm team immediately went into action. In the end, the Firm obtained an 11 million dollar settlement for the child – more than 30 times his medical bills.

“A 3-year-old boy was playing with a ball in an activity court area of an apartment complex, with his parents watching him. An internal part from a 30 foot overhead outdoor light fixture in that activity court suddenly fell and impacted the boy’s head. The boy was rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency brain surgery due to a bleed in his head. The boy made an essentially miraculous recovery, which did not go unnoticed by the defense. He was able to go to school, develop, think and function like any other boy with no noticeable issues. After the incident, the little boy’s teachers in Kindergarten, first and second grade testified that they had no idea the little boy ever suffered an injury of any type and that he was one of the best students in their class,” Ramzy Ladah, founder of Ladah Law Firm, PLLC, explains.

By hiring more than 20 experts and taking more than 50 depositions, the team was able to illustrate a few different things. Ladah Law Firm was able to show that the part fell because the apartment complex was simply being too cheap and did not want to spend the money to keep the lights maintained – all information that took more than 20 depositions of employees of the apartment complex and management company to uncover. Additionally, by locating one of the former property managers, who the defense did not disclose and claimed they could not locate, Ladah established that this property manager was aware that parts were missing from the light fixtures before this incident ever happened.

“In addition, through countless expert witnesses, we were able to show that, although the boy appears perfectly fine right now, and had no deficits or difficulties in school, socially, or cognitively, that he was going to get much worse over time as he aged and as his brain developed. The challenges were that nobody, not even his teachers, could tell, by looking at the boy or by talking to him or interacting with him for long periods of time, that he had ever suffered any type of a brain injury,” Ladah continues. “While we firmly believe we would have been awarded more than $11 million at trial, the boy’s family was anxious to put this nightmare behind them.”

“Ladah Law Firm, PLLC tackles those cases other firms aren’t equipped to handle. Complex cases require money and time, including countless hours of hard work and strategizing, that many lawyers don’t have in sufficient supply. In fact, many law firms now refer their high value, catastrophic cases to us, knowing their clients will be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect, and that we will spend the money and time to prepare their case for trial and go to trial when necessary. For this reason, clients feel confident that the team will do everything feasible to ensure they get fair compensation for their brain, spinal or other serious injuries,” Ladah declares.
