It is very important for stores to act properly in regards to the safety of their premises. Premises-related negligence by stores can result in customers suffering accidents. One type of accident premises-related negligence by stores sometimes leads to are slip-and-fall accidents. Such accidents can be very harmful.
Recently, a case has arisen involving an alleged slip-and-fall accident. The accident allegedly occurred at a grocery store in Jefferson, Louisiana.
Reportedly, one day, an elderly man and his grandson were shopping at the store. According to the elderly man, there was a puddle of water on a portion of the store’s floor. The elderly man alleges that he slipped on this puddle of water and fell.
According to the elderly man, the grocery store acted negligently in regards to the safety of its premises. The elderly man claims that his slip-and-fall accident was the result of this alleged negligence. The elderly man also alleges that the grocery store failed to respond properly to the accident.
According to the elderly man, he suffered a variety of harms as a result of the slip-and-fall accident, including injuries, physical pain and mental pain.
A lawsuit has been brought in a court in Louisiana by the elderly man and his wife against the grocery store in connection to these allegations. Reportedly, this lawsuit is asking for damages. It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens in this case.
As the allegations in this case illustrate, premises-related negligence by stores can cause a great deal of harm to customers. Thus, one hopes that all stores make sure to not engage in premises-related negligence. One also hopes stores are held accountable when they act negligently in regards to their premises and such negligence results in a customer getting hurt.
