Motorcycles are often considered unsafe. The vehicles have smaller, less protected frames, making riders more vulnerable to injuries following accidents. What’s more, the same small frame also makes it more difficult for other motorists to see motorcycles on the road. However, regardless of how difficult it may be to see motorcycles, all drivers are taught that they must pay attention to bikers. Many motorcycle accidents are caused by the inattentiveness of other drivers.
A recent accident occurred in Las Vegas involving a car and a motorcycle. According to reports, a small car and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Desert Primrose Lane and S. Town Center Drive. As a result, the motorcyclist was trapped under the car. Thankfully, construction workers were near the scene and were able to lift the car off of the motorcyclist. They then pulled his body out from underneath the vehicle. The motorcyclist was then transported to a nearby medical center. Police said his condition was critical but stable.
A motorcycle accident can result in a number of injuries that range in severity. While some injuries may be considered less serious, like whiplash, head injuries and the like are considered very serious and often prove to be life-altering. Sometimes, a motorcycle accident may be the result of another driver’s negligence. In such cases, victims have rights.
Victims sometimes choose to pursue legal action in order to prove another driver’s liability. A successful negligence lawsuit often allows a motorcycle accident victim to obtain compensation. Compensation can help that victim pay for the myriad medical expenses and other costs that these accidents so often spawn. Though never able to erase the trauma that these victims have endured, obtaining compensation can be an important step in the road to recovery.
