Rear-end motor vehicle accidents can cause a great deal of harm. Last weekend, a rear-end car accident occurred in Nevada in which several people were killed.
The accident happened on Interstate 15 last Saturday. Early that morning, an 18-year-old man was driving a motor vehicle along the interstate. Reportedly, the 18-year-old man was a fugitive from a juvenile facility in California.
The 18-year-old man’s vehicle then rear-ended a van. The van contained seven people.
The 18-year-old man has been accused of having been drunk at the time of this accident. He faces multiple drunk driving charges in relation to the crash.
Five of the individuals who were in the van the 18-year-old man’s vehicle struck died as a result of the accident. The crash also resulted in four other individuals (the two remaining individuals from the van, the 18-year-old man, and a passenger of the 18-year-old man’s vehicle) getting hurt.
As this tragic accident shows, rear-end motor vehicle accidents sometimes have deadly results. Thus, it is very important for motorists to take all proper steps to prevent rear-end accidents when driving. This includes making sure to drive in a safe and careful manner when out on the roads. It also includes avoiding engaging in drunk driving or other reckless conduct when behind the wheel.
No family should have to experience the death of a loved one because a motorist engaged in negligent/reckless conduct when behind the wheel. Sometimes, families who lose a loved one due to an accident caused by negligence/recklessness by another individual will bring a wrongful death claim against the negligent/reckless party to seek relief for the financial harms caused by the loved one’s death. The financial impacts of loss of a loved one can be substantial.
