Motorcyclists generally do not have a great deal to physically protect them in the event of a motor vehicle accident. Thus, collisions between motorcycles and other motor vehicles can be extremely harmful to motorcyclists. Such accidents sometimes even result in a motorcyclist’s death.
Earlier this week, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Nevada.
The accident happened in Reno on Wednesday. That afternoon, a van was travelling south along Holcomb Avenue. Apparently, the van then made a left turn attempt in front of a northbound motorcycle. The motorcycle and the van collided.
According to the article on foxreno.com which reported this story, police are still in the process of investigating this motor vehicle accident.
The individual who was operating the above-mentioned motorcycle died as a result of this collision.
As this crash illustrates, motorcycle accidents sometimes result in a fatality. Thus, collisions between motorcycles and other motor vehicles can have truly tragic results.
Because motorcycle accidents can cause such great harm, it is very important for motor vehicle drivers to do everything they reasonably can to prevent motorcycle accidents when behind the wheel. This includes exercising appropriate care when executing maneuvers such as left turns. It also includes watching for motorcycles when driving.
If motor vehicle drivers fail to do these things, they could be putting the safety of motorcyclists they share the roads with at risk. No motorcyclist should have to suffer harm or lose his or her life because a motor vehicle driver failed to act properly when out on the roads.
