Johnathan Leavitt is a fourth-generation native of Las Vegas, and grandson of the late Nevada Supreme Court Justice Myron E. Leavitt. Johnathan earned his Bachelor’s degree in University Studies with dual Minors in Political Science and Business Law from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He then attended the University of Idaho College of Law, where he fast-tracked to graduation in 2.5 years, earning his J.D. with an emphasis in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. While attending law school, Johnathan was granted a limited license to practice law in the school’s Legal Aid Clinic, where he began gaining invaluable courtroom experience representing the rights of clients who could not afford legal representation.
Johnathan began his legal career representing clients in criminal, family, and civil matters (including auto accidents, medical malpractice, and deprivation of civil rights cases). For the last several years he has focused exclusively on personal injury matters and enjoys taking cases all the way through trial to successful verdicts. Johnathan has arbitrated, mediated, and negotiated hundreds of cases and recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients.
Johnathan received the nomination of Super Lawyers Rising Stars (Mountain States) in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and is a member of the Nevada Justice Association. He is licensed to practice in both state and federal court. In his free time, Johnathan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and dog. They enjoy traveling and the outdoors. Johnathan also enjoys mixed martial arts, playing the piano and drums, and playing any and all sports.
