Accident Near Nevada Causes Minor Injuries

Just Outside of Nevada, Accident Causes Little HarmOn behalf of Ladah Law Firm, PLLC posted in Car Accidents on Thursday, October 10, 2013.

One of the biggest events in a person’s life is getting his or her driver’s license. It is an exciting time. Once you have a license, you are now mobile to go wherever you want whenever you want. That driver’s license gives one the freedom to move about as you please. With a privilege like this, there comes a great amount of responsibility. Driving can be extremely dangerous and the potential to be involved in a car accident in one’s driving lifetime is pretty great. The speeds at which people drive and the number of vehicles on the roadways make driving a viable threat to safety.

A car accident occurred right outside of Nevada on US 54. The accident involved a Geo Prism and a Dodge Ram truck. The two-car accident occurred when the smaller vehicle ran into the back of the truck as the truck was attempting to make a turn. Luckily, both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident, which resulted in only minor injuries. Each driver sought medical attention.

No matter the severity of the accident. it is important to ensure that everyone involved in the accident is okay physically. Although accidents take a mental and emotional toll as well, step one is to address physical injuries. Once immediate medical needs are met, individuals in car accidents then may look to address other issues that can arise out of being in a car crash. For instance, when dealing with accidents with negligent or distracted drivers, the police can issue citations to those who are at fault for the accident. This citation can be used as evidence in court to bring a court claim on behalf of the injured or wronged party. Depending on the court’s ruling, compensatory and/or punitive damages may be available.

Car accidents occur with some regularity and recognizing and understanding one’s rights in an accident is always helpful.
